On 28 January 2026, representatives of the Italian company Leonardo were on a working visit to the Air Force VING in order to coordinate and further implement the contractual obligations for the procurement of helicopters for the Army needs.
The visit brought together representatives from the Ministry of Defense, the Army General Staff, and the Air Force VING, with the aim of aligning activities, timelines, and technical and operational aspects associated with the procurement process and the introduction of the new air platforms into service.
During the visit, the existing capacities of the Air Force VING were reviewed, along with its readiness to receive, maintain, and operate the helicopters in the forthcoming phases of contract implementation.
This activity represents an important step in the process of military aviation modernization and directly contributes to enhancing the operational capabilities and interoperability of the Army, in accordance with national and NATO standards.
