Today, there was an official military handover-takeover ceremony for Signals Battalion Commander held at the Ilinden barracks. Lieutenant Colonel Dragan Sarafiloski took over the duty Commander of the Signals Battalion (SigBn). The Commander of the Operations Command, Brigadier General Besnik Emini and the newly appointed Commander of the Signals Battalion Lieutenant Colonel Dragan Sarafiloski addressed the guests and the service personnel of the unit lined up at the parade ground.
Brigadier General Emini called on the Signals Battalion service personnel to provide strong support and dedication, emphasizing that significant results can only be achieved through joined effort. He congratulated the incoming Commander Lieutenant, Colonel Dragan Sarafiloski, wishing him success in his work including enhancing the capacities and capabilities of SigBn. In addition, he thanked the outgoing Commander Lieutenant Colonel Venco Jovanov for his contribution to the unit.
The incoming Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Sarafiloski expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him to lead the Signal Battalion. He emphasized his commitment to justifying that trust and continuing to work diligently under the battalion’s motto, “Information is Power.”
In addition to the Commander of the Operations Command, the ceremony was attended by the Commander of the 1st Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Dejan Chiplakovski, the Chiefs of J-6/General Staff and Operations Command, former commanders of the Signal Regiment and Signal Battalion, commanders from other units within the Operations Command, and other guests.
