Today, September 14, 2015 (Monday), at 11:00 pm, in the barracks “Ilinden” in Skopje a ceremony was held on the occasion of handover of the duty Engineer Battalion Commander within the First Mechanized Infantry Brigade. The duty Engineer Battalion Commander from Lieutenant Colonel Dejan Chiplakovski was given to Major Vasil Mitevski, who so far performed the duty Chief Officer for operations and planning in S-3/5/7 section in the Engineer Battalion.
The ceremony was attended by ARM Chief of General Staff LTC General Metodija Velichkovski, Commander of Joint Operational Command, Brigadier General Vasko Gjurcinovski, Commander of First Mechanized Infantry Brigade, Colonel Zoran Mileski, commanders of the commands and units located in the barracks “Ilinden” – Skopje.
At the ceremony the Commander of the First Mechanized Infantry Brigade, Colonel Zoran Mileski, held a speech. He said he was proud of the results and success achieved by the battalion in their complicated everyday activities. As a Commander, he stressed that he is particularly proud of the excellent results in training and exercise activities of the battalion, and that the new Commander is expected to enrich the training and to successfully manage and command the battalion.
The former commander of Engineer Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Dejan Chiplakovski, held a speech as well. Not hiding his emotions, he noted that he performed his duty with great honour and pride. He warmly thanked all members of the Engineer Battalion in the line, as well as those who are in Poroj and Gevgelija where they carry out their tasks.
Engineer Battalion Commander, Major Vasil Mitrevski, in his speech referred to the history of Engineer Battalion and its glorious past. Knowing that before him in the line stand experienced soldiers and officers, guided by values of love for the country, professional, disciplined and devoted, ready to meet the most demanding tasks and challenges, he noted that he will continue to lead the unit successfully, the way all previous commanders did. He sincerely thanked the former Engineer Battalion Commander for everything he achieved during his mandate.
After that formal handover of the Engineer Battalion battle flag was performed.
The former Commander will perform a new duty – Chief of J-7 in the Command of SEEBRIG in Larissa, Greece.
