At NATO’s Adazi Military Base in the Republic of Latvia, on 9 June 2026, a joint military ceremony involving the contingents of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia, the Slovenian Armed Forces, and the Armed Forces of Montenegro marked the transfer of duties of the Senior National Representative (SNR) and Section Commander within NATO’s Forward Land Forces Latvia (FLF Latvia) mission.
The duties were transferred from Master Sergeant Ljupcho Milanovski, Commander of the Anti-Armour Section, to Staff Sergeant First Class Boshko Dimitrijevski, Commander of the Engineer Section, who, as part of the new rotation, has assumed responsibility within the multinational forces in Latvia.
The ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to the Republic of Latvia, Tomaz Matjasec, the Commander of Task Force Latvia, Colonel Joel Maley , the Deputy Commander of Multinational Brigade Latvia, Lieutenant Colonel Jesus Abad Sanchez, as well as national representatives of the countries participating in the mission.
In his address, Master Sergeant Milanovski reflected on the importance of the experience gained and lessons learned during the mission, emphasizing that it was both an honor and a responsibility to represent the Army and the Republic of North Macedonia in a multinational environment comprising personnel from 14 NATO member countries. He wished the members of the ninth rotation success in accomplishing their tasks, a professional approach to their duties, and continued contribution to maintaining peace and stability on the Alliance’s eastern flank.
Colonel Joel Maley and Lieutenant Colonel Jesus Abad Sanchez also addressed those in attendance, expressing their appreciation to the members of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia for their dedication, professionalism, and the high standards demonstrated in the execution of mission tasks.
In recognition of his successful service as Senior National Representative and Commander of the Anti-Armour Section, Master Sergeant Ljupcho Milanovski was awarded the Medal for International Cooperation by the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Slovenia and the Medal for Contribution by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Latvia.
