On 18 March 2026, a working meeting was held at the Training and Exercise Squadron between representatives of the Italian company “Leonardo” and representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the Army General Staff, and the Air Force VING.
The meeting was conducted within the framework of the ongoing cooperation and partnership, with the aim of exchanging information and coordinating activities related to the implementation of the contract for the procurement of helicopters for the needs of the Army. During the meeting, the activities carried out so far were reviewed, as well as the guidelines for further action in accordance with the agreed timeline.
Special attention was given to aspects related to capacity readiness, logistical support, and the planning of the next phases of the process, while emphasizing the importance of coordinated and timely implementation of activities.
As part of the visit, a working group meeting was held at the Air Force VING Command, where technical and operational issues of mutual interest were discussed at an expert level, with the aim of their further alignment.
The activities carried out during the day took place in a constructive atmosphere and represent a comprehensive step toward successful further implementation of the contract, in line with national priorities and NATO standards.
This process once again confirms the Army’s commitment to the continuous modernization of air force capabilities and the enhancement of operational capacities, as well as its determination to consistently follow modern standards and strengthen interoperability within NATO.
