The members of 15th Engineer Battalion of the US Armed Forces at the ATA “Krivolak” had a preparatory shooting practice at post 1 (PS-1) with automatic rifle (AR) M70 AB2 7,62 mm. The shooting practice was organized by the Engineer Battalion (EBN), a unit within the Operations Command (OC), and its aim was familiarization of the members of the 15th Engineer Battalion of the US AF with the personal weapons of the members of the EBN.
Prior to the practice shooting, the members of the 15th EBN were informed about the purpose, characteristics and use of AR M70 AB2 7, 62 mm., the shooting positions and commands, and the shooting range safety measures.
The practical part was conducted at the shooting range “Brest” in accordance with the shooting range safety measures as well as the ones for COVID-19.
The Commander of the Operations Command, Major General Pavle Arsoski and the commanders of both engineer battalions visited the shooting range and commended the soldiers on their successful shooting practice. The results achieved at the practice confirmed the professionalism and discipline of the members of the US AF 15th Engineer Battalion, and the excellent preparation and organization of the shooting practice by the members of the EBN/OC.
This joint engineer training of the members of the EBN/OC and the US AF 15th EBN, which started on 15th March and will end on 15th May, is only one of the several joint training activities. During this joint training the members of the engineer units will share their experiences, which will improve accomplishment of future activities and tasks and the interoperability according to NATO standards.
