On May 21, 2015 in the barracks “Cede Filipovski – Dame” in Kicevo, the units from the 4th Mechanized Infantry Battalion (4.MIB) from the 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade (1.MIB) of the Joint Operational Command, with a military ceremony marked May 21, the Day of the Unit.
With a decision of the President of the Republic of Macedonia and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Mr. Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, May 21 is determined as a Day of the 4.MIB which as a unit continues the traditions of the formation of Kicevo-Mavrovo detachment.
Within the framework of the celebration, fresh flowers were laid at the war heroes alley in the barracks, and the commander of the unit, Lieutenant Colonel Blagoja Mijakoski, as well as the the Commander of the 1MIB, congratulated the day with dedicatory speeches.
The ceremony was attended by the commanders of the units of the 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade, representatives of the state administration, public institutions and services, mayors and representatives of the local government units in the area of responsibility of the unit and other citizens and officials with whom the unit cooperates.
Since the formation of the ARM in 1992, May 21 is celebrated as the day of all previous units which were stationed at the garrison in Kicevo (13th Infantry Brigade and the former 2nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade), which were tradition bearers in celebrating this important date for the ARM.
