On 25.05.2014 at the shooting range “Kamnik” in Skopje, the ARM members participated in the 8th International Shooting Tournament “Grand Prix Skopje 2014” where significant results were achieved.
The tournament is one of the greatest and the most attractive of its kind in Europe and it is organized each year by the Macedonian Sport Shooting Federation. Apart from the traditional direct participation in the competition, the Army helps with arranging and securing the shooting ranges as well.
On behalf of the Chief of the ARM General Staff, the tournament was opened by Major General Metodija Velickovski, Joint Operations Command (JOC) Commander who addressed the contestants and wished them achievement of top results.
The competition featured more than 400 contestants from the Republic of Macedonia and from several foreign countries in the disciplines: 25m pistol, rifle, 100m tactical semiautomatic sniper rifle and sniper rifle.
The contestants from the ARM commands and units achieved high results with the JOC team winning the third place in the discipline “tactical semiautomatic sniper rifle” and the individually won third place in the women’s discipline “pistol” by Staff sergeant Irena Lekovska from the Special Operations Regiment.
