In the “Young Europeans” barracks in Pomozotin, joint training of the members of the Chemical Biological and Nuclear Defence Company of the Army with the members of the Kosovo security forces was conducted. The training, which lasted 2 weeks, took place under the leadership of DTRA (Defence Threat Reduction Agency), US Marines CBIRF and the 71st Civil Support Team from the Iowa National Guard.
The joint training included a theoretical and practical part related to the management of dangerous substances, where the participants demonstrated their skills to eliminate all problems related to the identification and management of dangerous substances.
The unit was visited by the Deputy Commander of the Kosovo security forces, Major General Enver Cikaqi, and the Commander of the National Guard of the Kosovo security forces, Brigadier General Naim Haziri, during which words of praise were expressed for the success of the exercise, emphasizing that this cooperation is very significant, and training of this nature has a positive effect on raising the interoperability of the two countries in response to CBRN threats.
The continued support of the US Embassy in the Republic of Macedonia through DTRA enables the members of the Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Defence Company to raise their personal and collective capacities to be ready to respond to CBRN threats, not only in the Republic of North Macedonia, but also in other NATO countries.
