Delegations from the Army General Staff and the Ministry of Defense, led by the Chief of the Army General Staff, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, and the Minister of Defense, Vlado Misajlovski, laid wreaths of fresh flowers at the memorial to the fallen members of the Special Forces Battalion at the Ilinden barracks in Skopje, today.
In honour of the fallen servicemen: Senior Sergeant Robert Petkovski, Sergeant Boban Trajkovski, Sergeant Mile Janevski, and Sergeant Igor Kosteski, wreaths of fresh flowers were also laid by members of the Special Forces Battalion, commands of Army units, former members of the Special Forces Battalion, representatives of Ministry of Interior, and family members of the fallen Army servicemen.
On this day 25 years ago, near the village of Vejce, in the vicinity of Tetovo, eight members of the security forces were killed while defending the homeland.
Their sacrifice remains a lasting reminder of courage and dedication in the defense of the homeland.
