On the occasion of the 127th anniversary of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk’s graduation from the Military High School in Bitola, a ceremony was held today at the Bitola Museum. The ceremony was attended by a delegation from the Macedonian Army, led by the Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command, Brigadier General Lulzim Nuredini and a delegation from the Armed Forces of the Republic of Turkiye, led by Brigadier General Ramazan Toper.
In his address, General Nuredini emphasized that Ataturk’s legacy represents a bridge of friendship between the two countries which maintain a sincere and strong partnership. He pointed out that the cooperation in the field of defense is of particular importance and is carried out through military education, joint training, modernization and exchange of experiences. Referring to Ataturk’s well-known quote, “Peace at home, peace in the world,” the general stressed that this message remains relevant in today’s world, reminding that the role of the armed forces is not only to defend the state, but also to contribute to stability, security and peace.
Today’s event, held in honor of the life and work of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and his exceptional dedication to progress and the promotion of lasting peace among nations, was also attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkiye to the Republic of North Macedonia, H.E. Fatih Ulusoy, the Deputy Minister of Defense, Admir Shabani, representatives of the military-diplomatic corps, of the General Staff, of the Ministry of Defense, the Mayor of the Municipality of Bitola and other guests.
