The Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, today held a meeting with the Ambassador of Romania, Monica Axinte, and the outgoing Defence Attaché, Colonel Cătălin Petre Archip, on the occasion of the completion of his mandate.
The meeting was also attended by the newly appointed Defense Attaché, Lieutenant Colonel Alexandra Bărbulescu, who will assume this position in the upcoming period. During the meeting, Major General Lafchiski expressed his gratitude to Colonel Archip for his personal commitment, professionalism, and continuous contribution to the development and enhancement of bilateral military cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries as NATO Allies. He also wished Lieutenant Colonel Alexandra Bărbulescu a successful mandate and expressed confidence in the continued strengthening and advancement of cooperation during her tenure.
During the meeting, both sides highlighted the joint activities carried out over the past period, with particular emphasis on the successful conduct of military exercises, coordination within regional security forums, and projects aimed at the education and professional development of military personnel.
