The Chief of the Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski, met with Lieutenant General Ian John Cave, a senior military representative of the United Kingdom (UK) in NATO and the EU, who is on a working visit to the Republic of North Macedonia and the region.
General Gjurchinovski and General Cave, during the working meeting attended by the military attaché, Lieutenant Colonel Edward Green, discussed the participation of the contingents of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia in the NATO-KFOR operation in Kosovo and the EU-ALTEA mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as about the excellent bilateral military cooperation.
At the same time, it was emphasized that with active participation in these NATO and EU missions, not only is regional security contributed to, but our units and army members contribute to improving their own defense capabilities, at the same time affirming the Army and the country as a proven ally at the international level.
During the meeting, topics concerning the comprehensive bilateral cooperation in the field of defense were discussed, which is realized in several areas such as: military education at the higher military educational institutions in the UK, cooperation in peace operations, several types of military training, advisory assistance for implementation of the operational transformation of the Army and the training and assistance of teams from the UK Armed Forces to strengthen the capacities of the Light Infantry Battalion Group.
