Today, the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Sashko Lafchiski, held a meeting with a delegation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Turkiye, led by Brigadier General Ramazan Toper.
The visit was carried out as part of the program of activities of the Turkish delegation related to the traditional commemoration of the anniversary of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk’s graduation from the Military High School in Bitola.
During the meeting, the historical significance of Ataturk, a reformer and founder of the modern Turkish state, was emphasized. His stay and education in Bitola represent an important historical connection between the two countries and part of their shared cultural and historical heritage.
During the meeting, they pointed out the excellent bilateral military cooperation, as well as the continuous support that the Army receives from the Turkish Armed Forces. It was also stressed that the partnership between the two countries continues to develop in the spirit of mutual friendship, trust and cooperation.
