The Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Major General Azim Nuredin attended the ceremony marking the graduation of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk at the military high school in Bitola. This annual activity is part of the military cooperation with the Armed Forces (AF) of the Republic of Turkiye.
At the ceremony, held in the memorial room of Kemal Ataturk, in Bitola museum, in his speech General Nuredini said that unfortunately this year’s event was overshadowed by a recent tragic event; the devastating earthquake in Kahramanmaras and 10 other provinces.
“The least one could do was to lend a helping hand. True friends offer help in times of need and that is why we sent the most qualified and skilled members of our Army. Our friendship is not just a formality, and it has always been mutual and sincere”, stated general Nuredin.
He also mentioned the strategic partnership and cooperation with AF of the Republic Turkiye, which has been carried out through the education and training of the members of our Army at the military school and academies in Turkiye, the given support in the area of training, and the contribution to the development and modernization of our Army as well as the joint deployment to peace operations. All of this depicts the sincere and friendly relationship between both countries, which never had any unresolved issues. There has always been a long-lasting constructive cooperation accompanied by mutual bilateral and multilateral support, which has been continuously maintained by both countries.
At the ceremony, both the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkiey to the Republic of North Macedonia H.E. Hasan Mehmet Sekizkök, and the Defence Attaché, Lieutenant Serkan Cakir, expressed their gratitude for the unreserved support provided by our Army, by sending search and rescues teams, as well as for organizing this event marking the graduation of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk at the military high school in Bitola; an event that brings two friendly countries even closer.
The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of Defence Tiron Jajaga, MO representatives, the mayor of Bitola and representatives of the local government.
