Based on common interest the special units of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia have always had good mutual cooperation with the national sports federations, with selfless investing from all parties.
As a result of the cooperation with the Boxing Federation of Macedonia today in “Ilinden” barracks the President of the Federation, Primislav Dimovski donated boxing equipment to the members of the Special Forces Battalion. This will contribute to further improvement of training not only in boxing but also in other martial arts practiced by the popular “Wolves”.
The donation, which consisted of boxing gloves, punching bags and a fixture, was attended by the Director of the General Staff, Major General Zoran Mileski and the State Secretary in the Ministry of Defense Dragan Nikolicj. This donation implies that the mutual cooperation in this sport will rise to a higher level.
The donation was handed over to the State Secretary Dragan Nikolicj by Primislav Dimovski, the President of the National Boxing Federation.
I am honored that on the occasion of the NATO membership anniversary this donation goes into the right hands – in the most elite army unit, the Special Forces Battalion – said the head of the Boxing Federation, Primislav Dimovski.
State Secretary Dragan Nikolicj expressed his gratitude and stressed that boxing skills are included in the annual training plan of the Wolves.
I am glad that on the anniversary of North Macedonia’s NATO membership we confirm the excellent cooperation with the Boxing Federation, which will continue in the future, said Nikolic.
This cooperation is even more important since boxing is part of the plans and training programs of the Special Forces Battalion as part of mixed martial arts training. Besides boxing, jiu jitsu, kickboxing, judo, karate and wrestling are practiced, and several members of the battalion actively participate in sports competitions. The public has had the opportunity to see demonstrations of their skills on numerous events.
Boxing is a noble sport that requires strength, courage and sacrifice. It also helps in shaping and disciplining the person, which is a feature of the members of the Special Forces Battalion.
