In accordance with the plan for bilateral cooperation between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Greece, in the period from 19 to 23 October two activities were conducted in the Republic of North Macedonia: “Joint Special Operation Forces Training – JCET” in Ilinden barracks and mobile team diving training “Sweet Water Diving Training” in the Water Training Camp in Ohrid.
On that occasion, the participants were addressed by Colonel Sashko Lafchiski, the Chief of Special Operations Section at the General Staff of the Army and Colonel Georgios Akriotis, Defense Attaché of the Hellenic Republic in the Republic of North Macedonia.
Colonel Lafchiski expressed gratitude to the Hellenic Special Forces Command for the selfless commitment and contribution to the successful implementation of the planned activities in accordance with the plan for bilateral cooperation, especially in conditions of pandemic. He also stressed the importance of the exchange of experiences between the Republic of Greece as a longtime NATO member and the Republic of North Macedonia as a new NATO member, which will contribute to improving interoperability in the field of special forces in the Army.
Colonel Akriotis stressed the importance of continuing and deepening the cooperation with a commitment to continue in the future.
