On 14 August, 2019 handover-takeover of duty Ranger Battalion Commander was held at Ilinden Barracks. Lieutenant Colonel Mentor Saiti took over the duty Battalion Commander from Lieutenant Colonel Blerim Ismaili.
At the ceremony, Brigadier General Hadji Janev Metodi in his speech addressed the previous activities and successes realized by the unit in the past, and he congratulated the former and the present commander.
Former commander of the Ranger Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Blerim Ismaili thanked the unit’s personnel for the given support while he performed the duty Battalion Commander.
The newly-appointed Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Mentor Seiti thanked for entrusting him the duty commander, and he pointed out he is certain of even greater and more successful pace in performing his duties. Also, he added that every Ranger should be proud to wear a green beret, and that they are the best our country has. ‘We have always been one step ahead and should remain that way’.
During the ceremony there was official signing of handover of duty between the former and newly-appointed Ranger Battalion Commander.
The ceremony was attended by commanders of units based at Ilinden Barracks.
