18 second lieutenants from the 22nd class of cadets were promoted today with a military ceremony at the Military Academy “General Mihailo Apostolski” in Skopje, while 39 young people took a solemn oath to begin their studies as the 26th class of cadets at the Academy.
The Minister of Defense, Slavjanka Petrovska, in her address, told the graduated second lieutenants to continue with enthusiasm, energy and dedication in performing the upcoming tasks, because from today they represent the Army. The Minister told them not to regard the joining the Army as just a work engagement, but also as a sacred duty and obligation to build and defend the homeland.
The dean of the Military Academy, Colonel Mitko Bogdanovski said about the newly promoted lieutenants that they are the future leaders and promoters of the country and the Army; He congratulated the cadets on their determination to continue their education at the Military Academy and wished them success in their studies.
Kristijan Ilievski, Nikolina Pejovikj and Sara Ilievska were declared the best officers in a generation, and they were presented plaques for the achieved success by Minister Slavjanka Petrovska, Security Advisor of President Pendarovski’s office, Blerim Koljali, and Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Major General Azim Nuredin.
Today’s ceremony was attended by the Minister of Defense Slavjanka Petrovska, the Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Major General Azim Nuredin, the Deputy Minister of Defense, the Director of the General Staff, the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Defense, the generals in the Army, commanders of the Army units, families and relatives of the cadets and other guests.
