Today, at the Military Academy General Mihailo Apostolski in Skopje, the new Army officers of the 21st Class were promoted to the rank of second lieutenant and the cadets of the 25th Class took a solemn oath.
The President and the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Stevo Pendarovski, in his address to the cadets highlighted the following: “By choosing this profession, you, as cadets and future students serve a noble cause. At the Military Academy General Mihailo Apostolski you will be able to upgrade your knowledge on the modern defense concepts and also to enhance your moral, ethical and human values, necessary for every leader with integrity and honor”.
Furthermore President Pendarovski pointed out: “This is a big day for all of you promoted to second lieutenants today. The officer’s rank represents honor, dignity and responsibility to the Army and our fatherland. We expect you to invigorate the Army and bring new knowledge and skills in the Army structures, to spread what you have learnt in the past 4 years in your commands and units, thus contributing to enhancing the Army combat readiness and military moral”.
The top three ranked cadets Rehxep Mustafovski, Ilcho Gjorgjievski and Damjan Angjeleski were presented with gifts for their top results by President Pendarovski, Minister Shekerinska and General Gjurchinovski.
Besides the President, Stevo Pendarovski, the Minister of Defence, Radmila Shekerinska and the Chief of the GS, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski, the ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of Defense, Deputy Chief of GS, the State Secretary at the Ministry of Defense, Army generals, the Ambassadors of Monte Negro and Kosovo, representatives of the MoD of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, and Monte Negro, the Military Academy Dean, commanders of Army units, families and relatives of the cadets and other guests.
31 second lieutenants of the 21st class, who were promoted, will continue to build their careers in the Army units, and 31 cadets of the 25th class took their oath thus starting their four-year military education of the first cycle of studies at the Military Academy.
