Two courses with different content and application, ‘Basic Course for Psychological Support and Stress Management During Operations’ and ‘Military Briefings Course’ were held simultaneously over the past period.
The Basic Course for Psychological Support and Stress Management During Operations was held at military barracks ‘Kuzman Josifovski-Pitu’ in Tetovo, and was attended by the personnel from Tetovo and Kichevo garrisons. While, the Military Briefings Course was held at the Foreign Language Centre (FLC/TRADOC), in ‘Ilinden’ Barracks – Skopje, created and ran by the FLC team.
The Psychological Support Course encompassed topics on dealing with stress and different communication skills were commented. The participants gained knowledge on how to help themselves and other Army members, and how to improve their skills in effective communication and more successful completion of tasks; avoiding misunderstandings, conflicts and frustrations. Effective communication has a great impact on making decisions and provides a feeling of certainty that the leader has understood the information.
Attendees of the Military Briefings Course, in the theoretical part, acquired knowledge on the techniques how to prepare and hold military briefings and during the practical part they were given the opportunity to apply gained knowledge by giving individual presentations.
The above-mentioned courses, planned and conducted by the Training and Doctrine Command, in compliance with NATO standards, provide the basis and opportunities for strengthening interoperability and capacities of Army members, leading to highly trained and functional units capable to deal with current threats and challenges, in the country and abroad.
