The Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski attended the military ceremony at the barracks “Alekso Demnievski Bauman” in Veles, at which hundred and eight civilian citizens took an oath to do a voluntary military service and thus serve their country.
The Deputy Minister of Defence , Bekim Maksuti and the Commander of the Centre for Individual Training, Lieutenant Colonel Muhamed Ibraimi addressed the soldiers volunteers of the thirty-ninth generation.
Addressing the soldiers, among which there were ten female volunteers, the Deputy Minister, Maksuti said that the sole act of volunteering to do a military service deserves respect and support. He also added that during the three-month service the ministry and army will do all that it takes to make the military profession appealing for the soldiers, and so they will continue their career in the Army.
Lieutenant Colonel Ibraimi addressed the parents of the soldiers who attended the ceremony and told them to be proud of their sons and daughters who with dignity accepted the responsibility to serve their country as members of the Army.
The ceremony was attended by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, Dragan Nikolikj, the Commander of the Operations Command, Major General Pavle Arsoski, the Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command, Brigadier General Metodi Hadji-Janev, representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the General Staff of the Army, commands and units of the Army, local authorities, parents, relatives and friends of the volunteers.
The training of the volunteers doing the military service will last three months at the Centre for Individual Training, which is part of the Training and Doctrine Command of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia.
