In accordance with the annual training plan, as well as the instruction and infantry weapons marksmanship programs for cadets from the Cadet and Officer Training Center studying at the Military Academy “General Mihailo Apostolski” within the Training and Doctrine Command, the Platoon Leader Course for 3rd and 4th year infantry cadets was recently conducted at the Army Training Area “Krivolak”.
The objective of this course is for the cadets to successfully master their assigned tasks, namely, to practice executing individual critical tasks during offensive combat operations to safely and quickly destroy various battlefield targets, both independently and under command, as part of a section and platoon. Furthermore, the course aims to train cadets in combining fire and movement during an assault.
Additionally, cadets acting as team, section, and platoon leaders were trained, practiced, and evaluated in organizing and executing an attack, as well as in their proficiency in handling and managing the fire support assets within unit’s organizational structure.
They were introduced to the equipment at the Army’s disposal and practically demonstrated the knowledge acquired during the training process. The final part of the course ended with the successful execution of an exercise demonstrating a mechanized infantry platoon in an attack.
Through practical instruction, cadets have the opportunity to further develop and consolidate their theoretical knowledge, while building the confidence and field-condition experience necessary for every future, modern, and well-trained Army officer.
