The Chief of General Staff of ARM, Lieutenant General Metodija Velichkovski held a working meeting with the Chief of NATO Liaison Office, Navy Captain Gorazd Bartol. The meeting was also attended by the NATO Liaison Office personnel, the Chief of Section for Inter-Army Cooperation of the General Staff and the Command Sergeant Major in ARM.
At the meeting, Captain Bartol informed the attendees about the current activities of the NATO Liaison Office and the future dynamics of the mutual cooperation in accordance with the planned coordinated forms of cooperation.
They also pointed out the excellent mutual cooperation which helps contribute to Macedonian Euro-Atlantic integration and provide support and exchange of experience in the military reforms in the area of defence and security, which is one of the main functions of the NATO Liaison Office.
The mission of the NATO Liaison Office in the Republic of Macedonia is to advise on military aspects of Security Sector Reform within the Ministry of Defence and the ARM in order to contribute to Macedonian Euro-Atlantic integration and provide support to NATO-led operations within the Balkans Joint Area of Operations.
