Yesterday (18th of April 2017), ARM delegation led by the ARM Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Metodija Velichkovski began the planned activities within the working visit to the US federal state Vermont.
Within the agenda of the first day General Velichkovski met his host, the Vermont National Guard Commander Major General Steven Cray, and discussed the current activities within the military cooperation, especially in terms of training and drills.
The joint activities and capacities were presented at the meeting, and the generals expressed their mutual satisfaction with the cooperation; they emphasized the need for continued expansion of the forms of training in carrying out joint exercises, which would be carried out at the TA Krivolak with the participation of the armies of the US – Adriatic Charter.
General Velichkovski expressed his gratitude for the possibility of using the capacity of the Vermont National Guard for training and education of ARM members, especially for the availability of the center for simulations, as well as planning the joint execution of training of the engineer units.
During the day the ARM delegation visited the training center “Ethan Allen” and the military camp “Johnson”, as well as the center for simulations, and was introduced to the possibilities and manner of conducting training in these facilities and using the operational procedures for firing used by the Vermont National Guard.
The visit to Vermont continues today – in Montpellier, the ARM Chief of General Staff will have a high level meeting with the Governor of the state of Vermont, Mr. Phil Scott, and will visit the Military University Norwich, the training center “Ethan Allen” and the Agency for Crisis Management and National Security of Vermont.
