Today, 25th of August 2015, an official military ceremony took place in “Strasho Pinjgur” barracks in Petrovec on the occasion of duty handover of the Commander of the 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade (1st IMBde) as part of Joint Operations Command (JOC) of ARM.
The duty 1st IMB commander was handed over by Brigadier General Pavle Arsoski to Colonel Zoran Mileski who was Chief of Staff in the Brigade.
Following participants took place at the ceremony: Minister of Defence Mr Zoran Jolevski, Chief of GS of ARM Lieutenant General Metodija Velichkovski, Deputy Chief of GS of ARM Major General Muhamed Racaj, JOC Commander Brigadier General Vasko Djurchinovski, representatives from MOD and ARM and other guests.
According to military protocol JOC Commander, 1st MIB outgoing commander and newly appointed 1st MIB commander addressed JOC personnel.
JOC Commander stressed that 1st MIBde does not need to be complemented because the achievements this unit had accomplished so far spoke about the professionalism, expertize, extraordinary commitment and participation in combat operations.
He thanked the outgoing 1st MIBde commander for his unselfish contribution to the successful performance of the unit. He congratulated the newly appointed commander and wished him success on his new post.
The outgoing commander of 1st MIBde stated that he was very satisfied with the achievement of the unit and he was honoured being a commander of this unit and he thanked the personnel for the support they gave him.
Newly appointed 1st MIBde commander Colonel Zoran Mileski said it would be a privilege to be a commander of such a respective and elite unit but at the same time he send the following message: “a hard work is ahead of us, accomplishing all our duties and responsibilities will not be easy, but I promise that I will share with you both the efforts and the accomplishments”.
At the end of the ceremony the handover of the flag of the Brigade noted the official handover of the duty 1st MIBde Commander which was followed by military defile of the echelons of the subordinate 1st MIBde units.
With a decree issued by the President of the Republic of Macedonia the outgoing 1st MIBde commander Brigadier General Pavle Arsoski is appointed JOC Deputy Commander.
