On the second day of the official visit of ARM, the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kingdom of Norway, Admiral Haakon Broon-Hanssen, accompanied by the ARM Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Goranco Koteski, today visited the Public Relations Regional Centre, the Medical Training Centre and ARM Special Operations Regiment.
Admiral Broon-Hanssen was familiarized with the work of the centres in which the Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces of the Kingdom of Norway have donated specific financial and material resources and equipment, which is a key factor for the further development of these institutions.
Admiral Broon-Hanssen was informed about the development of the project for the field hospital (Role 2), as well as about the initiative to establish the Balkan Military Medical forces, whose headquarters is scheduled to be in Skopje. Guests from Norway expressed satisfaction with the work of the Medical Training Centre, which will be the basis for further strengthening of the cooperation in the area of military medical training.
During the visit to the Special Operations Regiment the guest from the Kingdom of Norway had the opportunity to get acquainted with the mission, objectives, training and the experience gained by participation in missions and exercises. Members of the Special Operations Regiment performed a demonstration exercise with content from the training. Not hiding the pleasure of what was shown, Admiral Broon-Hanssen stated that the high level of training, interoperability and application of NATO standards in the training are an excellent basis for further cooperation between special operations units of the two armies.
