Today, (20th December) in barracks “Kuzman Josifovski-Pitu” in Tetovo, the 7th traditional New Year’s cross country was held. It was organized by General Staff of ARM and the International Council for Military Sports of ARM.
Over hundred participants from all commands and units of ARM, the members of ISAF contingent and athletes from Macedonian Athletic Federation took part in the New Year’s cross country.
The winner of this year cross country in male category, 8000 m is Captain Igor Jakimovski, with time 26:19. In female category, 4000 m the winner is Adrijana Pop Arsova, time 15:56. In team category Special Operations Regiment (SOR) won the first place, the team from Training and Doctrine Command won the second place, the second team from SOR won the third place.
In female category the best results were achieved by the Training and Doctrine Command. Low temperatures and bad weather conditions were not a hindrance for ARM members’ participation in the cross country competition; hereby they proved an outstanding physical condition and readiness, as well as sportsmanship, an important factor for healthy life and successful completion of all assignments.
