From 16 to 20 September 2013 at the Training Center Pepelishte the Final coordinative conference for the upcoming exercise “Macedonian Flash 9” which will be executed on the Army Training Area Krivolak from 14 to 18 October 2013 was held. With this conference the final stage of the preparation phase for conducting the upcoming exercise is rounding up. Self-evaluation level 2 of the Medium Infantry Battalion Group (MIBG) from the 1.Mechanized Infantry Brigade and NATO evaluation level 1 of the Light Maneuverable Hospital (LMH) – level 2 (ROLE 2) from the Logistic Support Brigade will be conducted.
The main goal of this exercise is the demonstration of the acquired level of interoperability, operative capability and in the same time battle readiness check up of the declared units for their involvement of NATO led operations, as well as training of the staff and the subordinate units from the (MIBG) and the medical personnel from the (LMH) for mission readiness.
The activities and the conclusions that were drawn from the Final Conference represent good bases for the evaluators to complete the self-evaluation Level 2 of the (MIBG) and NATO evaluation Level 1 of the (LMH) – Level 2, and by that a successful execution of the “Macedonian Flash–9” exercise.
In the same time, the members from the (MIBG) exercised live ammo shooting with mechanized sections, platoons and companies and shooting with 82 mm mortars, 120 mm mortars and 105 mm howitzer. There are ongoing preparations for a Tactical exercise with live ammo shooting “Reinforced infantry battalion in attack” which is scheduled for execution on 22 Spetember 2013.
The thorough preparations and the level of training that was shown this week during the preparatory stage by the units that are part of the “Macedonia Flash – 9” exercise, as well as the tactical exercise scheduled for Sunday, are a guarantee that this exercise will be organized in a flawless manner and we can expect good results.
