Today, October 21, 2015, at the Ilinden barracks in Skopje there was a military ceremony within which the members of the Signals Battalion celebrated the day of the unit.
By decision of the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces PhD Gjorgje Ivanov, October 21 is designated as a day of the Signals Battalion, a date that marks an important historical event.
The Signals Battalion which is a part of the Joint Operations Command (JOC) is the bearer of the traditions of the establishing of the signals department in the headquarters of the National Liberation Army and Partisan detachments of Macedonia.
The celebration was attended by: Deputy Chief of GS of ARM Major General Muhamet Racaј, JOC Commander Brigadier General Vasko Gjurchinovski, representatives of GS of ARM and JOC, commanders of units stationed at Ilinden barracks, former commanders of the unit and other guests.
In his speech the commander of the Signals Battalion Lieutenant Colonel Dragan Gjorgjievski besides giving a short historical review of the unit, emphasized the results of the Signals Battalion in executing the assigned tasks and the readiness to meet the challenges within its scope.
This unit successfully provides the necessary communication and information support for uninterrupted functioning of the communications in command and control among the commands and units of ARM.
During the ceremony the congratulation cards to the Signals Battalion were read, and incentives were awarded in honor of the day of the unit.
At the end of the ceremony part of the specialized equipment of the battalion necessary for a successful execution of the mission of the unit was displayed.
