As part of the regular annually planned training activities of the units within the Joint Operations Command in the period from 11 to 14 May 2015 at the AP “Krivolak” grenading, rocketing and bombing (GRB) was practiced with helicopters Mi-8 and Mi -24B from AFB (Air Force Brigade).
The activity is part of the regular training of AFB pilots when the helicopters fire at ground targets with unguided rockets. This is a very complex procedure because speed and weather conditions have a major impact on the accuracy of the helicopter.
Before conducting GRB pilots initially have a theoretical training, followed by mock firing with rockets and concrete bombs and finally they perform life firing and rocketing.
The activity is carried out under the supervision of experienced pilots who participate in the process of planning and carrying out the shooting. After the whole process is completed it is thoroughly analysed, conclusions are drawn, as well as lessons learned from the activity.
By participating in continuous training AFB pilots become capable of performing the most complex tasks arising from the purpose of the unit.
