From 17 to 21 March 2014, at the training Support Centre (TSC) “Pepeliste”, the Final Coordination Conference (FCC) about the exercise “Macedonian Flash 10” (MB-10) took place. In the same period, at the TSC “Pepeliste” the Initial Planning Conference (IPC) for the upcoming situational tactical field exercise “Fast Lynx 14”, which will be carried out in the barracks “Chede Filipovski-Dame” in Kichevo, was also realized. At the latter exercise, the declared company which is a part of the EUBG 2014-2 in the composition of 1.Mechanized Infantry Brigade (1st MIB) will be evaluated.
On 19.03.2014, the Minister of Defence, Talat Xhaferi, and the ARM Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Gorancho Koteski, conducted a tour and an inspection of the work on the planning conference for the exercises “Macedonian Flash-10” ‘and “Fast Lynx 14 “.
During the work on the conference, the time and place for “Distinguished Visitors Day” has been also determined, when the participants in the exercise will have the opportunity to show some of the activities that are encountered during the execution of peacekeeping missions abroad.
In order carry out the planned activities successfully, the logistical support, financial structure of the exercise, the time of the briefing on the exercise with the media have been determined. Likewise, the personnel and material resources for the implementation of the exercise have been defined.
During the five-day conference, at which the working language was English, all the documents for this planning phase envisaged with the NATO Exercise Directive 75-3 were produced. (Finalizing and approval of the exercise plan, activation of forces and information on their deployment, finalizing the beginning of the exercise, as well as a main list of events / incidents).
A scheme of the setup of cells and their networking for regular communication between participants of the exercise has been produced. The regions where exercising and evaluation of the units in the exercise will be taking place have also been determined.
The conducted activities and the conclusions resulting from the completion of the final coordinating conference enable dealing with the upcoming challenges for successful completion of the exercise “Macedonian Flash 10”.
