In the period from 10.03 to 14.03.2014 at the sports ground “Adzhitepe” in Kumanovo staff conditioning and training in operating the unmanned aircraft vehicle (drone) “RAVEN” which is part of the newly received equipment in the Army of the Republic of Macedonia.
On 03.13.2014 the Joint Operations Command (JOC) Commander Major General Metodija Velichkovski, and the 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade (1st MIB) Brigadier General Pavle Arsoski carried out a tour of the training.
During the successfully conducted training, standard precautions before use, manual launch, manual command, automated landing and standard precautions after use were realized.The training was attended by representatives of armoured and reconnaissance platoons form the 1 st and 2 nd Mehanized Infantry Battalion as part of the 1MIB.
The drone “RAVEN” is the most widely used unmanned aircraft system in the world today and it was introduced in the Army of the Republic of Macedonia in August 2013. Raven can be operated manually or programmed for autonomous operation, using precise GPS navigation. Raven provides antenna surveillance by day or at night up to 10 kilometers.
