Today, the 4th Mechanized Infantry Battalion (4MIBn), within the 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade (1MIBde), celebrated the Day of the Unit with an official military ceremony at the military barracks “Chede Filipovski-Dame” in Kichevo. Celebrating this day, they continue the tradition which started with the foundation of the Kichevo-Mavrovo Partisan Unit.
There were many guests at the ceremony including the Director of GS of the Army Major General Zoran Mileski, the Commander of the 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade Colonel Dragan Kovachki, units’ commanders, former units’ commanders, retired personnel who served in the unit, representatives of the local authorities and public services, as well as civilian companies with whom the unit cooperates.
The Commander of the 1MIBde Colonel Dragan Kovachki addressed the audience congratulating on the Day of the Unit. In addition, the Commander of the 4MIBn Lieutenant Colonel Goran Trajanovski in his address mentioned their participation in a military parade in Poland where servicemen with honor and pride marched with Macedonian flag together with the other armies who are full NATO members.
The best platoon in conducting everyday training and tasks was pronounced the Armoured Reconnaissance Platoon within the Command Company. Moreover, incentive measures were presented to service personnel who selflessly do their jobs in order to strengthen the unit.
The service personnel of the 4MIBn demonstrated their humanity by donating 91 blood units.
The ceremony ended with a military parade and technical exhibition when the guests and students from local elementary and high schools had a chance to see the weapons and equipment of the unit.
