Today, 6 June 2019, wide range of activities was carried out as part of the military exercise ‘Decisive Strike’. Members of the ARM and the US Armed Forces started the day by appearing on national TV where they were given the opportunity to familiarize the public with the activities planned to be realized during the largest military exercise ever held in our country.
Further in the day, in accordance with the exercise plan, and as part of the civil-military cooperation a donation of books in English language was made by the US Armed Forces at the primary school ‘Strasho Pindjur’ and at the primary schools in village Krivolak and village Pepelishte. The children at these schools now have a chance to expand their English language knowledge taking advantage of this valuable collection of donated books.
The Pennsylvania National Guard and the ARM Middle Infantry Battalion Group (MIBG) Medical teams also carried out joint drill and exchange of experiences in First Aid, treatment of casualties and MEDEVAC by helicopter Mi-17. After that, 2nd Infantry Company of the MIBG executed the activity ‘Convoy escort’. According to the exercise scenario during the movement of the convoy vehicles, one of them encountered an improvised explosive device (IED) and was ambushed, two people were injured in the incident and they were evacuated by helicopter Mi-17.
Over the course of the day the other planned activities from the list of incidents and events will be realized, among which are – infantry attack on a base, artillery attack on a base and section live firings.
