The Honor Guard Battalion of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia, despite the constant presence at the highest state and military ceremonies, has intensified the cooperation with the affiliated units of the partner armies.
As part of the bilateral cooperation with the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia, today the Macedonian guards held a joint half-hour performance with the Croatian Armed Forces Honor Guard unit, when they demonstrated their skills.
At the performance held in front of Biser Shopping Center in district Aerodrom-Skopje, the members of both units demonstrated high-level lined up rifle handling.
Members of the Honor Guard Battalion displayed their famous “Egzercir”, while Croatian guards presented themselves with a modified acrobatic military drill. The superb precision, synchronization, and effects of weapons handling reflected the readiness and training of these two units.
The activity was based on bilateral military co-operation in conducting joint training between the two armies, and this is the first time the members of these two Honor Guard units have had a joint performance.
In the earlier period the Army Orchestra, which had a short performance today, had several joint performances with military orchestras of other armies, the last of which was in April when they played with the military orchestras of four other armies.
Today’s performance, which was open to public, was attended by the State Secretary of the Defence Ministry, Dragan Nikolic, Director of General Staff, Major General Zoran Mileski, representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia, as well as representatives of: the Ministry of Defence, the General Staff, the Municipality of Aerodrom, the City of Skopje, the military-diplomatic corps and others.
