A delegation of Hungarian Armed Forces, including the Defence Attaché of Hungary to the Republic of North Macedonia, Colonel Szabolcs Háry and the Police Attaché, Mr. Róbert Egril visited the First Infantry Brigade (1InfBde). They were welcomed by the Commander of the 1InfBde, Colonel Besnik Emini and officers from the Command and Staff HQ of 1InfBde.
During their visit, the delegation was briefed on the history and mission of the unit, the formation and the organizational structure of the unit, the equipment and locations of subordinate units, including their training facilities. In addition, they were briefed on their activities in the upcoming period, as well as, the transformation of the brigade in accordance with NATO standards.
After the briefing about the 1InfBde, the delegation was given a presentation about lessons learned from dealing with the migration crises followed by discussion on problems our country and Hungary face while handling the migration crisis.
After their visit of 1InfBde Command and Staff HQ the delegation went to the southern border in the vicinity of Gevgelija and visited the refugee transit center “Vinojug” in Gevgelija and the watchtower “Bogorodica”. They were briefed on the situation of the assigned units from the 1InfBde, and units deployed at the southern border, who are supporting the border police in dealing with the migrant crisis.
