In accordance with the annual training plans for subordinate units within the Operations Command, the service personnel in the infantry battalions, the Signals battalion and the reconnaissance section within the
Artillery Battalion realised winter conditions training at the winter conditions training areas in the western and northern part of the country.
After the preparatory training of the personnel of the 1st Infantry Brigade in the barracks, the acquired techniques and skills for survival and execution of tasks in the mountains were practically implemented. During the few days training the personnel conducted the following: movement on snow, overcoming snow obstacles with formation and random means, construction and dwelling in structures made of snow, firing positions with personnel weapons in winter conditions, as well as riding and steering snowmobiles.
In the Signals Battalion, the training was realised by setting up suitable signals stations and establishing and maintaining planned connections at the operational centre for command and control. By realizing this training in field conditions, a clear outlook of the Signals Battalion capabilities for executing the assigned mission, which is to provide communication information support to the command-and-control process at strategical and operational level.
