The reconnaissance platoons of the infantry battalions of the 1st Infantry Brigade (1st IB) and the engineering reconnaissance section of the engineering battalion in the past few days conducted professional-specialist training “Base and nutrition in nature”.
During the training the staff acquired the necessary techniques and skills, self-confidence, knowledge about the use of flora and fauna as a basic and additional source of food in conditions of difficult or interrupted food supply.
During the training were conducted reconnaissance tactics, land orientation, making tools for finding and collecting food from the flora and fauna, their classification and preparation for food.
Special emphasis was given to the training of the staff for construction of facilities for work and accommodation, means for preparation and storage of food, means for collecting the products provided by the wild flora and fauna, purification of the drinking water with manual means, classification of the items of animal and vegetable origin as well as their preparation for food.
Through various forms of training the staff showed a high level of expertise and professionalism.
