In cooperation between the General Staff of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Defense Cooperation Office at the US Embassy in Skopje, a seminar in the field of Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) was held at the Army House from 15th to 19th November, 2021.
Members of the General Staff, subordinate commands and units of the Army were participants in the seminar, while the lecturers at the seminar were CIMIC experts from the Command of US Army Europe and Africa.
During the seminar, the CIMIC teams visited the mayors of Shtip, Sveti Nikole, Negotino and the director of the General Hospital in Negotino, and they discussed the possibilities for future projects within the practical part of the training, which is an integral part of the upcoming international exercise “SWIFT RESPONSE 22”.
During the seminar, several topics in this area of NATO operations were covered, including a comparative review of the implementation of activities in both Armies, the CIMIC leadership engagement strategy, as well as practical negotiation exercises.
This seminar is part of the activities organized by the Command of US Army Europe and Africa, which focuses on the CIMIC segment in order to strengthen the expertise of military personnel in this area, as well as how to perform such activities in multinational environment such as peace support operations and international exercises.
At the end of the activity, the participants were awarded certificates for successfully completing the seminar.
