The opening ceremony for the final sport competitions, organized by the General Staff of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia was held today at the military stadium in Skopje. These competitions are part of the activities marking the 30th anniversary of the Army.
The Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Army, Major General Azim Nuredin opened the sport competitions encouraging the member of the units, who participate in today’s finals, to proudly represent their units by demonstrating their sport abilities, and thus confirm that sport activities are a significant part of army training
More than one thousand members of the Army have taken part in the competitions that have taken place so far in all the garrisons of the Army, and one hundred of them will compete in the finals today.
The sport competitions: 4 and 8 kilometers cross-country running, futsal, basketball, volleyball, chess, and table tennis are traditionally part of the annual celebration of the Day of the Army. The most successful unit will be awarded a trophy, and the most successful teams and individuals will get appropriate awards at the ceremony on the Day of the Army.
Sport and sport competitions are integral part of the army training and the physical readiness, and at the same time the competitive environment of sport contributes to better execution of combat tasks and activities.
