According to the plan for organization and participation in international exercises, from 28th September to 10th October a computer assisted exercise organized by the Command of the South-Eastern Europe Brigade (SEEBRIG) was conducted, with the full support of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia.
At the exercise, conducted with help of TRADOC capacities and the Affiliated Unit within the Operations Command, more than 200 civilian and military personnel from SEEBRIG member states participated, as well as observers from the NATO Rapid Deployable Commands in Greece and Turkiye, the OSCE and other international commands.
At the exercise NATO command and control procedures between the Command and SEEBRIG Affiliated Units were practiced, through computer simulated and map exercises, utilizing the capacities of TRADOC Simulation Center.
This international exercise aimed at promotion of operations capabilities of the Brigade Command and its Affiliated Units, in order to advance its interoperability when participating in peace operations, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief missions.
A field training exercise will also be performed for the Distinguished Visitors’ Day, which will take place on October, 6th at the ATA Krivolak. It will be a dynamic demonstration of tactical level activities between the Affiliated Units from the host country’s Army and SEEBRIG.
The Seven Stars 2022 exercise strengthens SEEBRIG’s capabilities for cooperation and stability in South-Eastern Europe. At the same time they demonstrated their readiness for participation in peace operations if requested by the UN and the OSCE.
Location of the SEEBRIG Command, which is on a rotational basis, is in the barracks “Boro Menkov” in Kumanovo from 2020-2026. In this way the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia, besides the participation of its units and staff officers in SEEBRIG, has proved to be a great host during this 6-year period.
Units appointed to the Brigade remain at their permanent base positions and are obliged by the principle of task force for exercises and operations upon decision of states participants and a respective decision of the Politico-Military Steering Committee (PMSC)
The post SEEBRIG Commander rotates among the member states every three years.
