Members of the Signals Battalion (SBn) marked “21st October” – Day of the Unit with a military ceremony at ‘Ilinden’ Barracks in Skopje.
The ceremony was attended by the Operations Command Commander, Brigadier General Besnik Emini, representatives of the Army General Staff, Operations Command, and other Army commands and units, as well as former signals regiment and battalion commanders.
In his address, Signals Battalion Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Dejan Peshevski referred to the battalion’s tradition, inherited from the transformed Signals Regiment, emphasizing the importance of the unit in communication and information support of the Army commands and units.
Operations Command Commander, Brigadier General Besnik Emini, in his speech pointed out that the effects and results achieved by the members of the Signals Battalion can be seen daily at peacetime locations of the Army, and also at training grounds, army training areas and at any location where Army members contribute to building world peace.
Different activities were carried out as part of the ceremony marking the Day of the Unit. For example, a blood donating activity in cooperation with the City General Hospital ‘8th September’ in Skopje, a humanitarian activity where food and toiletries were donated to socially disadvantaged families from Sopishte Municipality, and sports competitions in indoor soccer, basketball, table tennis and chess.
