The members of the Helicopter Squadron from the Air Force Wing and the Special Forces Battalion (SFBn) had the opportunity to demonstrate their capability for extraction of a casualty from inaccessible terrain, which is part of their training, in a real-life situation.
After receiving report there was a casualty during an alpinist exercise “Rocky Mountain Extractions “, the search and rescue team from the Air Force WING Helicopter Squadron on duty, successfully carried out the extraction and transport of the casualty to the Air Force base in Petrovec. with a quick and timely response.
By applying all the procedures in such situations, the staff from both units practically demonstrated their training and mutual coordination, whereby the casualty was safely transported by Mi-8/17 helicopter for further medical intervention.
