Open days in Prilep, Ohrid, Skopje, and Kichevo from 22 to 24 of March, rounded up the activities which were conducted to mark the 75th anniversary of the NATO establishment and the 4th anniversary of our membership in the Alliance.
During the open days, Macedonian citizens visited the sites in great numbers which helped the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Ministry of Defense to transparently demonstrate highly trained army service personnel and a fraction of the equipment to the public. They also presented the Army in a positive light as the most important asset to the defense and security of our country and its role in the NATO collective defense.
Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovsi attended the activities in Ohrid and Prilep accompanied by the Chief of Staff of the Operations Command, Brigadier General Mirche Gjorgoski, who also attended the open day in Kichevo. The President and Commander-in-Chief of the Army, Stevo Pendarovski attended the open day in Skopje, accompanied by the Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Major General Azim Nuredin.
There were 8 open days altogether held, in addition to the above mentioned cities, also in Strumica, Kavadarci, Shtip and Tetovo. The visitors had an opportunity to see demonstrations of skills by the service personnel from the Special Forces Battalion, Ranger Unit within the Reconnaissance-Intelligence Battalion and the Canine Training Center.
Additionally, the visitors had a chance to see part of the armament and army vehicles including the latest ones – JLTV, diving equipment of the Special Forces, alpine climbing equipment of the Rangers, and equipment of the Military Police, Infantry units, CBRN units and Signals units.
