Today, the international exercise “Maple Arch 24” (MA24) was opened with an official ceremony at the “Alekso Demnievski – Bauman” barracks in Veles.
Over the next two weeks, until December 6, 2024, at the “Alekso Demnievski – Bauman” barracks in Veles and at the “Krivolak” training area, personnel of six armies will participate in the implementation of a computer-assisted exercise combined with a field exercise. “Maple Arch 24” is a continuation of the international exercise “Maple Arch”, which is being organized for the 25th time this year.
During the opening ceremony, the representative of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), Major Sean Clark, as the sponsor of the exercise, emphasized: the “Maple Arch” Exercise is a platform where trust, mutual respect and professionalism converge, aiming to enhance interoperability among our armies.”
The exercise was officially declared open by the Commander of the Operations Command, Brigadier General Besnik Emini, who, in his address to the participants, warmly welcomed the members of the Armed Forces of Canada, Georgia, Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine. He also highlighted the importance of such international exercises involving countries from different parts of the world. Among other remarks, Brigadier General Besnik Emini stated: “Maple Arch 24” builds bridges of communication and understanding among our armies, and reminds us that despite our differences, we all share a common vision, protecting peace, strengthening stability and preserving our shared values.”
