Today, the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Major General Sashko Lafchiski had a meeting with the Commander of the NATO mission, KFOR in Kosovo, Major General Enrico Barduani who is on a working visit to the General Staff of the Army and the Ministry of Defense.
During the meeting, they pointed out the excellent cooperation between the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia and the KFOR forces in Kosovo, expressed through the direct participation of our units in the mission.
Among other things, they also discussed the security situation in the region, as well as further joint activities aimed at improving the cooperation in order to strengthen the regional stability and security.
General Barduini was informed about the process of transformation and modernization of the Army, our participation in the operations and missions abroad and the activities in support of the state institutions in crisis management, as well as about the training and exercise opportunities that TA “Krivolak” offers.
The Army of the Republic of North Macedonia, which began its direct participation in KFOR four years ago, is contributing with staff officers in the mission’s main command and two security platoons in the KFOR regional command – “West”.
In addition to the direct participation, continuously since the beginning of the operation, through the host country support coordination center, we have also been providing logistic support to the KFOR forces in customs and border procedures for the NATO transports.
