In the period from 11 to 15 May 2026, at the Army Training Area” Penush”, members of the 2nd Infantry Battalion (2IBn), the Military Intelligence Company (MICoy), the 1st Infantry Battalion (1IBn), and the 3rd Infantry Battalion (3IBn), all within the 1st Infantry Brigade (1IBde), underwent training for operators of tactical unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)
The training was conducted in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures for the use of unmanned aerial vehicles in the Army and the Regulations for the handling and maintenance of UAVs.
The aim of the training was to put the UAVs into operational use through learning new skills, improvement of practical skills and sustainment of the existing capabilities of the operators within the 1IBde.
As part of the training, the unmanned aerial vehicle were employed in various weather and climate conditions, including operations in reduced visibility, night conditions, high temperatures and strong winds, thus further confirming the readiness and proficiency of the personnel in executing tasks in a complex operational environment.
