Training on the topic “Battlegroup ISTAR Planning and Execution”, was delivered by Major Paul Goodall from the permanent military training team of the United Kingdom Armed Forces, at the Command and Staff of the First Infantry Brigade (1st IBde) on 19 and 20 May 2026.
The training was carried out through presentations, discussions, and a map exercise, with a focus on the planning process and the use of Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, and Reconnaissance (ISTAR) capabilities at infantry company and battalion battlegroup level.
The training with the United Kingdom Armed Forces team aims to strengthen capabilities and enhance interoperability for the Army’s infantry units in accordance with NATO standards.
Officers from the Command and Staff of the 1st Infantry Brigade and subordinate units within the Brigade participated in the training, and the participants were awarded certificates for successfully completing the course.
Cooperation with the permanent military training team of the United Kingdom Armed Forces will continue in the coming period through the implementation of joint activities and training with Army units.
