From 10 to 11 June 2026, the Army hosted the Sixth Force Generation Conference for the NATO activity “Forward Land Forces” (FLF) in the Republic of Bulgaria. The conference was held at the Members of Parliament Club in Skopje. During the opening of the conference, the Director of the General Staff of the Army, Brigadier General Orce Jordev, emphasized the importance of the joint efforts and the contribution of the allied and partner armies in preserving peace, security and stability in the region and beyond.
On the margines of the conference, the Chief of the General Staff, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, held a meeting with Major General Nicola Piasente, Deputy Chief of the Planning and Exercises Department of the Italian Joint Operations Command. During the meeting, the high level of readiness and coordination of the joint forces for an effective response to contemporary challenges was reaffirmed.
The Army continues to actively and dedicatedly participate with its personnel and assets in NATO-led operations, missions and activities, including the Forward Land Forces deployed on the Alliance’s eastern flank.
In addition to the representatives of the Armed Forces of Italy, as the leading nation, the conference was also attended by representatives of the armed forces of Romania, Albania, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Greece and Slovenia, as well as representatives from NATO command structures.
The organization of this conference represents yet another strong confirmation of the active role of the Army in fulfilling its obligations within the Alliance and its continuous contribution to strengthening the collective security and defense.
